Kenisha Mahajan

My name is Kenisha Mahajan and I’m currently a junior at Stuyvesant High School in New York, hailing from Queens. In addition to being a Podcaster at NGP, I am a facilitator at YVote, an NGP initiative focused on voting rights and voter engagement. Over my two years with NGP/YVote, I’ve come to understand the importance of fostering civil discourse and how crucial these discussions are to creating meaningful change. I'm passionate about criminal justice and reform, specifically at bettering the educational disparities, socioeconomic barriers, and infrastructures that uphold the justice system. Outside of NGP, I'm heavily involved in journalism and using writing as a vehicle for young people to have their voices heard and work toward concrete solutions to systemic injustices.
