Eshaal Naveed

My name is Eshaal Naveed and I am a senior from Bay Area, California! I joined Next Gen Politics in the summer of 2020 and it will be my third time being a Lead Fellow this fall semester. In the past two springs, I’ve been able to work on Civic Action Projects with Jarrell Daniels and Wilfredo Laracuente and we focused on creating reform for gang violence as well as the school to prison pipeline. I love how NGP gives everyone an opportunity to voice their own opinions in a safe space. I believe that it is so important to be civically engaged, especially from a young age. Being a part of Next Gen has shown me that even from a young age, you can successfully partake in activism and truly make a difference in your local communities and beyond. Without Next Gen I wouldn’t have been able to find my passion in social justice and I hope to continue to learn more about it in my future education as I plan on pursuing a major in public health and working in the government!
