Malcolm Furman

My name is Malcolm Furman, and I’m a junior at Horace Mann School in New York City. This is my second year at Next Gen Politics and my first as a Lead Fellow. I joined Next Gen to engage with young people who share the same passion for political and civic engagement as I do. Being part of Next Gen has deepened my understanding of cross-partisanship through meaningful discourse. Last spring, I worked on a Civic Action Project in which I contributed to a study of 250+ NYC area high school students about their perspectives on freedom of expression in high schools. My experience as a Next Gen Civic Fellow has been extremely rewarding, and I have gained an abundance of knowledge in political issues that affect our lives as Americans. I look forward to continuing my engagement with this incredible group and supporting passionate young people as a Lead Fellow.
