Dima Al-Quzwini

My name is Dima Al-Quzwini and I am a junior at West Windsor Plainsboro High School South. I first began my work with Next Gen during the summer of 2023, where I was a Summer Civic Fellow. Since joining, I have been exposed to a wide range of experiences and perspectives on important issues. My favorite part about this summer’s conversations is the moment in which I overcame my initial discomfort at the diverse opinions of my peers and began to prioritize the power of listening to understand as opposed to listening to reply. This opportunity has allowed me to continue to cultivate my passion for advocacy and civic engagement.

I am incredibly excited to serve as a Lead Fellow for the 2022-23 school year program, which will allow me to continue to expand my knowledge of civic issues and engage in incredibly meaningful conversations with people of various backgrounds and positions. I am thrilled to be in a position where I can work alongside other passionate individuals in our cohort to engage in meaningful conversations. Outside of Next Generation Politics, I enjoyed competing at Model United Nations Conferences, rereading the Harry Potter series for the 700th time, and binge-watching Suits.
