Introducing the NGP Arts Initiative

Dear Readers,

Today, we are excited to announce the advent of the NGP Arts Initiative! A program within the NGP Blog, the Initiative will serve as a place for youth artists to showcase their work, as well as a place for critics and writers to think about and explore the world of the arts.

We are also happy to introduce our first Guest Curator! Every three months the Initiative will take on a new form with a new director, and we are very excited for this first curator’s vision for the section.

Our first director is Sophie Fishman, who is a current high school senior from New York City, and who is currently enrolled at the High School of American Studies at Lehman College. As an intern at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Paley Center for Media, she became interested in how art is influenced by its environment and how art has affected social and political movements. She is passionate about photography, modern art, environmental justice, and Frank Ocean!

If you are a youth artist who wishes to share one or more pieces of your original art along with a brief description of your work, please email both ngpeditor@gmail.com and sophierachel13@gmail.com.
